Residents have been invited to ask the Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward, and members of East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) Board questions about the future of the region at their next meeting on 16 September.

The agenda for the EMCCA Board meeting will include a slot to answer questions from the public submitted in writing to EMCCA’s governance team. Residents are able to attend the meeting, which will take place at Derby City Council, can ask their question directly to the Board.

Mayor Claire said:

“We will be making decisions that will have an impact on the lives of everyone in the region, so it’s important that we’re as open and transparent as we can be.

“As well as livestreaming meetings and publishing the full agenda and reports on our website we want as many people as possible to get involved in our work.

“We’re keen to hear from residents with a question about the way we work, the decisions we make and our future priorities.”

Members of the public can ask questions if they have given notice and provided the text of the question to Governance Services (governance@eastmidsdevo.org.uk) no later than 5pm on Monday 9 September. Questioners need to include the name and address of the questioner and the name of the board member they’d like to answer their question.

If a resident wants to ask a question but can’t attend the Board meeting they will receive a written answer to their question.

The Board meeting starts at 11am and the full agenda for the meeting will be available on EMCCA’s website : Meetings and Decisions – East Midlands Combined County Authority (eastmidlands-cca.gov.uk) on Friday 6 September.
