I’m thrilled that Nottingham Forest will be representing our region in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City next weekend. It’s a huge moment for the club, the region and the thousands of fans making the trip to Wembley.
As Mayor of the East Midlands, it’s my job to ensure we all work together so that fans can savour special days like this.
Whilst engineering works will be taking place on Sunday 27 April outside Kings Cross station, I’ve been working closely with Nottingham Forest, East Midlands Railway and Network Rail to make sure supporters have as many travel options as possible. Working together, we’ve been able to secure extra coach services and some engineering works have been postponed to help ease disruption.
With around 35,000 tickets sold and up to 4,000 supporters expected to travel by rail, it’s really important everyone checks the latest travel advice before they set off. I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on this special day by getting caught out by changes to train services.
Please plan ahead, allow extra time for your journey, and most of all – enjoy this incredible occasion.
