Claire Ward, Mayor of the East Midlands, will step down from her role as Chair of the Board of Directors at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust.

Claire Ward has been a part of the Trust’s Board for 11 years and has served as Chair since 2021.

“I am incredibly proud to have been the Chair of this Trust for the past three years, so I am stepping down with real mixed emotions,” said Claire Ward, Mayor of the East Midlands.

“While I am really excited to take on this new challenge as Mayor and to get started to make our region a better place, I am sad that my time here at Sherwood is coming to an end.”

The Trust’s Vice Chair, Graham Ward, the Trust’s Vice-Chair, has been appointed Acting Chair for a period of 12 months.

Claire Ward took office as Mayor of the East Midlands on 7 June, following the region’s first-ever Mayoral election held on Thursday 2 May, which saw votes cast across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Nottingham.
